Hey,
The fire-bellied toads do not have tadpoles.
they have eggs and then the eggs turn to live toads not tadpoles.

Hi,

love your website! lots of practical information here, fun to read and watch too. I have 2 newts for a few days now in the 10 galon tank with land and water set up just like your home but a smaller version. Already want to upgrade to a bigger tank so I can get the toads too. but guess I have to wait; can’t get my newt to eat yet. I will try the crikets today. Thanks.

I have had my toad for a few months.
He vanished one day and we assume he buried himself in the dirt. These type of toads hibernate in nature from late Sept-May. Is this what he is doing or should we be concerned?

hello, i have recently purcahsed three baby firebell toads, i love them to death, but i recently bought an additional firebelly newt, they seem to enjoy each other. they swim together and cuddle as well. i really enjoy my pets and am very please to say their behavior around each other is very positive

we have 6 newts and 1 toad all fire bellied and they live in a 50 gal tank and enjoy each other

I have a newt and I have never had problems with him because of poison. I have very sensitive skin too, even sunblock gives me a rash! You shouldn’t worry about it. You shouldn’t handle them too often though, it can stress them out and the natural oils on you skin can clog thier pores and make them sick.

Wow thanks, i was about to put a pair of firebelly toads, and a pair of firebelly newts togeather. i use to think the newts were more stronger, but i guess not.
